Russia had said a day before that it had taken "complete control" of the whole Kherson region. The Russian troops encountered tough resistance from Ukrainian tank and armoured vehicle units in various districts of Kherson, according to Ukrainian media. Both sides are claimed to have suffered significant losses.
At a briefing on Wednesday, Russian defence ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said Moscow had destroyed 128 military items, including two Ukrainian Su-25s, one MiG-29, and four drones. "Ukraine's military sites were struck by operational-tactical, army, and unmanned aircraft. "One Buk-M1 air defence system, one Osa air defence system, four detection and target identification radar stations, four command posts, seven weapons and ammunition depots, and 68 military equipment accumulation locations" are among them, according to Konashenkov.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also posted a video of its artillery hitting a Ukrainian army storage in the Chernihiv district. "During a fire operation, an RF Armed Forces artillery unit destroyed a combined store of rocket and artillery weapons, as well as up to 20 units of military equipment."
