Turkey has volunteered to act as a mediator in talks between Russia and Ukraine
During a phone discussion on Saturday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu begged Russian colleague Sergei Lavrov to cease the military action in Ukraine, according to a Turkish diplomatic source.

According to the source, Cavusoglu cautioned Lavrov that further escalation of military tensions would be detrimental to everyone.
According to the source, Cavusoglu also repeated Turkey's "readiness to host negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine."
