On Thursday, the actress claimed she wanted to bring attention to her mother's melancholy On the day Naomi died, Judd stated she was at her mother's house in Tennessee.
Naomi Judd died at the age of 76, just one day before she and her daughter Wynonna Judd were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

To protect her privacy, Ashley Judd only confirmed that her mother died by self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her daughter Ashley remarked that because her mother had freely discussed her sadness and anxiety in her memoir, "River of Time," she treasured every moment she spent with her.
'I embraced the affection my mother could give me because I knew she was vulnerable,' Judd added. She exclaimed, "There's my baby, there's my sweetheart," as I entered their kitchen from the back door. And then she burst into flames. That was the best time of my life."
"It's crucial to create the line between [the loved one] and the sickness," Ashley Judd stated of their motivation for bringing awareness to mental illness.
When the reason of death was made public, Judd stated the family reluctantly shared it with the media. As a result of her mother's openness about her sadness, she was the one who discovered her after the fact.
Asked by Judd, "I have both pain and trauma from discovering her," she added, beginning the conversation by thanking everyone for their support in the aftermath of their grief.
